How Facial Mapping Can Be Used

Posted on | Posted in Blog

Facial mapping is routinely used in criminal trials across the world, thanks to the increasing numbers of CCTV cameras used in today’s society the police and other legal professionals are able to gather many images and video footage of our everyday life occasionally capturing illegal activity. The images can be used to identify criminals, eliminate the innocent and secure convictions.

Using photogrammetry, morphological analysis and superimposition our experts analyse and compare a collection of images. By using more than one image we can determine if the absence or presence of characteristics, similarities and resemblances are of the same person.

CCTV can be poor quality therefore we can enhance these images increasing the quality of the footage allowing us to provide a conclusive report. We provide an independent review of the imagery for the defence or prosecution.
